Today we decided to leave the downhill tracks behind for the day and headed out on a xc ride around #LlynBrenig at the heart of the Denbigh moors. Taking the 9 mile scenic root around the reservoir, through mainly flat terrain with a few ascent's and descent's around this beautiful landscape.

Firing the girls up for a days riding.

After a long drive due to an unexpected route choice on my behalf we finally arrived at the #reservoir and took to the trail. On arrival there are plenty of places to park with tracks and activities suited for the whole family from #watersports, #cycling, #walking, #fishing, to chilling out with a cuppa in the visitors centre, whilst the kids play on the park. The centre is suited for everyone and even has #disabledaccess.

Although the reservoir is equipped with plenty of picnic areas, we decided to find somewhere bit wilder to sit down and have lunch. About a quarter of the way around the lake we came across a opening in the trees which we rode down, leading to a open section, perfect for a picnic with a spectacular view of the reservoir.

Although there was a lack of #singletrack on the route that didn't stop us from finding a few natural sections to spice things up bit and squeeze bit of #downhill into the days ridding!

Quick drink stop at the top of one of the uphill sections to admire the view and spot some natural sections.

After a flowy descent we headed back down towards the lake. Drying every puddle out on the way.

We'd reached the end of the road and it was time to head back to the van and head
home for a bbq in the evening sun.
